What are custom organs?
Custom organs are built one at a time by highly trained craftsmen for a particular requirement, stop list, cabinet style, etc. They may use a digital tone generation, pipes or both. Each craftsman is an expert in his or her field whether it be a design engineer, a cabinet maker, a digital electronic technician, a keyboard builder, an installation technician, a voicer, or a tonal finisher to name a few.

Are the consoles like the standard digital organs or like a pipe organ?
Our custom consoles are actually pipe organ consoles. We can build them in a very simple style or in a very detailed design. Many of our consoles are Aeolian/Skinner replicas with curved knee boards, long weighted keyboards for comfortable playing. The keyboards can be made of faux ivory, bone, or implex as well as rosewood, ebony, maple and other woods. Everything looks and feels like a pipe organ.

Our church wants to purchase a new digital organ. What is the life expectancy of your custom digital organs?
With the purchase of one of our custom digital organs, you should expect at least a 40 to 60 year life span and maybe more. We have been servicing some of the old tube organs of the 1940s and 1950s and they can still be repaired. With the new solid state equipment, we believe the life expectancy should be better than with the older technology.

Can your custom digital and pipe organs be upgraded after many years of use?
Yes, we have taken numerous older analog consoles and upgraded them to digital. Our fine new consoles are built to last and can be upgraded.

Do you provide personal attention to organists regarding service and operation of the instruments that you build?
Yes, with regard to service, we have a service co-ordinator who is very helpful in arranging service. In addition, matters of operation of the instruments can be handled by most of our staff.

Do you provide emergency service?
Yes, in cases where service was required in an emergency, we have been able to provide that service in over 95% of time. Situations where an organ was hit by lightning and was destroyed or required extensive repair, we, as any other service company, were unable to make the repair immediately.

Do you provide educational opportunities for church musicians?
Yes, from time to time we provide workshops for church musicians on organ playing, MIDI and other related matters. In addition, we provide workshops for choral directors. In 1985, we established a program with Lancaster Bible College to provide instruction for organists on a weekly basis.
